North Carolina beach town asks its residents not to do laundry for a week

“At least it’s not summer.

A North Carolina beach town asked its residents not to wash their clothes for five days so it can flush excess iron out of water lines.

The public works department in Surf City warned residents that the process may result in some discolored water, which is safe to drink but could damage their clothes.

While some people may have no problem reusing their last pair of underwear, several residents were not thrilled with the unusual request.”

File this one under the weird category. As anyone with large familes that does their laundry at home knows, 5 days is an extremely long time. Perhaps a day or two wouldn’t be too much of a burden, but nearly a week? That’s a lot to ask from residents.

At My Pilgrim Cleaners, we understand that things happen that can prevent people from using their own washer and dryer. Breakdowns for one, but also water access issues aren’t all that uncommon too. If you’re looking for a convienent and friendly place to do your laundry you’ve come to the right place. Check out our laundry services or call us at (612) 861-1697 to learn more.
